Hoffenberg, Michael Chicago, IL![]() ![]() I'm making a commitment to live longer and have a healthier lifestyle. My name is Michael Hoffenberg, I'm 53 years old, and I lost 65 pounds in about 6 months with Positive Changes Hypnosis and I'm having no problem maintaining it. When I first started in July 2007 I was wearing an uncomfortable 46 pant size, now I'm a 36 and it is still sometimes hard to believe. I struggled with my weight for over 20 years. I had lost it once using the strict diet that is recommended at one of those big chain diet centers. Once I stopped using their diet the weight started to come back and before I knew I it I had not only gained the weight I lost, but gained more. When I started at Positive Changes Hypnosis I definitely was on the high end of my weight, and weighing 263 pounds was putting my health at risk. Over the years I'd tried the fad diets, but they always yielded little to no results. I was frustrated over my inability to control my cravings when I was stressed or bored. I saw the Positive Changes ad in the paper and for years my wife had been suggesting I do something like this. I think she was tired of watching me struggle with no real result. At first I thought it wasn't real. Could people really lose weight painlessly? Without dieting? I read that Positive Changes Hypnosis offered a free consultation, I figured I had nothing to lose. I called and made the appointment. I was incredibly impressed with they're professionalism in that first meeting. They explained the benefits of hypnosis, told me exactly would I could expect and even did a quick test to make sure I was a good candidate for the program. After my first appointment I started to notice some changes. First, I noticed I was able to control my cravings. I was no longer eating when stressed or bored, which is great because that meant I only ate when I was truly hungry. Whatever my subconscious mind needed to react to the process worked because my attitude towards eating both in terms of quality and quantity changed for the better. It wasn't that I didn't choose good food before, it's that now that is all I choose. My ability to internalize the proper combinations of food has almost become second nature to me. Next, my attitude toward exercise changed. I knew it was something I had to do to lose weight before, but now it has become so much a part of my daily habits that if I miss a day I feel cheated. I have a new motivation to turn my body into a fat burning machine. When the weight started to come off it came off quickly! What amazed me was the internal drive I had that was not present in the diets I had been on in the past. Now, I am literally able to motivate myself. I truly feel the changes I have made are permanent. I know myself and now I can imagine that healthy, happy me so I won't fall back into old habits. When it comes to choosing what I eat I'm more educated so I get to choose how much of what to maintain my body, no one is telling what to eat. My family cannot believe the change in me. I have three grown sons and my wife is always sending them pictures and giving them updates on my progress, they really get a kick out of it. Even when I look at the pictures it is hard for me to believe that is me. I posted the "after" pictures of myself at work and at home where I can see them, it helps me stay focused and motivated. And I find I don't mind looking at that the new healthy guy. I even cook dinner for my wife now, I know what I want to eat and how I want it prepared. She is really enjoying the changes that I'm making. I recently went to a reunion for an organization where I worked for 9 years. There were people attending who had not seen me over the last 6 months. I was amazed at how many of them didn't even recognize me. They were just walking past me as if I were someone they didn't know, a totally new person. I loved to see the shock on their face when they realized it was me. I have to say it has been my favorite event since losing the weight. I made a visit to my doctor and she was amazed as well. She dropped her jaw, when she saw how much my cholesterol had improved. She was asking me a lot of questions about Positive Changes Hypnosis, I know she will be recommending it to her patients who are in the same situation I was in. I've bought new clothes and I still look at the label to remind myself that it has finally happened. I've lost the weight and I know it is never coming back! Occasionally I run into people who are not sure whether hypnosis is real. I point to my before picture and when they see that was me they just can't believe I used to be that big. I explain that what they see on television is not hypnosis, that it really is not like that at all. The emphasis at Positive Changes Hypnosis is on health.
