California Sushi Bowl

Tired of eating the same foods for lunch day in and day out? No need to worry - this recipe doesn’t include rolling the protein packed california roll into a pretty shape for display. Instead, mix the deliciousness together, and enjoy!

  • ¼ c. soy sauce
  • 2 T. Sugar
  • 1 T. Rice Vinegar

Sushi Bowls:

  • 2 c. Cooked Whole Grain Rice
  • ½ c. chopped crab
  • ½ cucumber - peeled, seeded and chopped
  • ¼ small lemon - sliced thin then finely chopped - include the peel
  • ½ avocado - sliced
  • 1 sheet dried seaweed - crumbled


Combine the sauce ingredients over medium heat, stirring continuously until boiling. Once the sauce is a syrup consistency, about 3 minutes, remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.

Combine all ingredients for the sushi bowls, and drizzle with sauce.


Tip: If you’re preparing these in advance, it’s best to wait to add the sauce until before serving.
