My name is Darin Spangler and I live in Medical Lake, WA. I work for the United States Air Force as an Airfield Management Specialist. Since coming to Positive Changes I have lost 57 pounds and I have taken 6 inches off of my waist. I have gone from a size 38 down to a size 32. I have battled with my weight for about 20 years now. I would go on a diet and then I would go off of it and gain the weight back again. When I was overweight, I kept seeing my father in the mirror and I love my father, but I do not want to look like him. He has the typical beer belly and I kept seeing that in the mirror and that is not the person I wanted to be. I wanted to be something else. I get a lot of comments on my appearance now.
Being overweight, I would meet certain people for the first time and in the back of my mind I would wonder, who are they seeing, me as I am or me as an overweight person.
I decided to call Positive Changes after going on a diet and then going off of the diet and gaining the weight back again. I finally decided that enough was enough. I needed to get off the diet rollercoaster I was on and find something that would last.
I would describe the Positive Changes program as life changing for me. It has given me the confidence and motivation to work out, eat proper portions, eat the proper foods and to not snack and crave the sugar or sweet foods. It has given me the positive influences to make the right decisions.
I pretty much noticed the changes in my behavior from day one. I started listening to the hypnosis CD's and I noticed that I wanted to get out and exercise. It started with walking at first and then it proceeded to running.
I also noticed health improvements right away. After I started losing weight, my blood pressure and heart rate went down to normal. I started losing weight the first week.
In the past I tried the Atkins diet, the starvation diet, I've tried calorie counting diets, any diet you can think of I've tried a little bit of it and I did get results from them, but as soon as I got off the diet I would go back to my same habits and put the weight right back on again. I was tired of the dieting. I was tired of having the cravings or doing without. I was tired of seeing results but putting the weight back on. The thing I dreaded most was the cravings. I would imagine wanting to eat something and not being able to have it because it would ruin the diet. With Positive Changes, it's never been about doing without, it's about making the smart decision. If you are going to partake in something, then don't take the full piece of cake, maybe take a half a piece.
Before, I was eating far too much at a sitting. Positive Changes has taught me to trim down the portion size and to make better decisions on how much I eat. I feel much more in control of my eating habits now.
The hypnosis has changed my cravings. I do not have any of those cravings for the salty sweet foods that I had before. I have more confidence to be able to go out in shorts and a t-shirt. I feel good about the way that I look. I no longer worry about what people are seeing. I enjoy running now, which is crazy because I didn't enjoy it before.
The most important benefit that I've received is the motivation to work out and stay healthy and fit. I have the motivation to eat correct portions. Those were the two big areas that I was deficient in and Positive Changes has turned me around in those 2 areas.
I do believe my weight loss is permanent, as all the other ads have said, it's a lifestyle change, it's not just a diet or a fad I am going through. It is my lifestyle that has changed now. I see myself being more active from now on.
The cost of the program is very on par with the results. I think the results are for a lifetime, not just a moment or a year or two. I definitely recommend Positive Changes to anyone.
