I'm Dawn Kuest of Spokane, Washington. I've been married for 31 years and Gary is my spouse. I have three children; Melanie, Conrad and Kevin. Their ages are 31, 26 and 23. I work in the radiology business. I'm a marketing customer service specialist for a company here in Spokane.
I stopped smoking when I came to Positive Changes and it was fairly quick and simple for me. It was something I had wanting to do for quite some time. It was a fairly easy transition when I did it with Positive Changes. I had smoked for 35 years. I was to the point of smoking approximately 10 cigarettes a day. I had cut back considerably over the last few years but wanting to quit was a priority. I just had to find the right way of doing it.
My health has improved. I probably feel that my mental health has improved even more since joining Positive Changes. It is getting easier for me to breathe, and I don't cough anymore. I have more energy and I just recently saw my physician for my yearly physical. They were very excited that I had finally made this decision to have a healthier life by quitting smoking.
I had heard about Positive Changes through television ads, radio spots, and a couple of people have talked to me about it in the past. When I came to Positive Changes I was a little skeptical of hypnosis. When I got here and had my evaluation, I felt a lot more comfortable about making the decision. I probably had thought about doing this for six months prior to actually making that first call. My evaluation was interesting. No pressure. Everything was explained to me as to what the process would be and how long the program would take.
I felt the fee was reasonable. I think it was probably the best amount of money I have spent on myself for quite some time. I think it was worth it.
I'm very satisfied with my results. It was pretty simple and easy for me to stop smoking. I stopped fairly quickly. I have not smoked at all since my first hypnosis session. I have tried to stop smoking with other methods, such as patches, lozenges, gums, and cold turkey. Obviously, the outcomes were not as good as when I decided to join Positive Changes.
As far as smoking ever again, I don't believe that is an option. I feel pretty good about not smoking now. I honestly believe that once it happened, it was for the rest of my life. I don't want to disappoint myself and get back into that awful habit, so I don't believe that I will ever smoke again.
My family and friends think it is absolutely wonderful that I've stopped. They've even noticed an improvement in my whole outlook on life. My attitude is very good and they have made comments several times regarding that.
My health improvements ... I'm actually getting out and walking more. Starting an exercise program is one of many goals I have further down the road. I do feel a little more physically comfortable with the walking and exercising. I've been told that I look like I have a glow to my face when I'm talking with people.
My confidence level has gotten a lot better since I've quit smoking. I did find myself in unpleasant situations while I was smoking because the people that I do associate with are non-smokers. That kind of leaves you with an unpleasant feeling when you are around people who are non-smokers, and you feel like they can smell the smoke on you and you're offensive to them.
My time is now spent doing things with my grandchildren, my children and my husband. It has actually freed up the time that I used for smoking to do fun things with my family.
I'm very proud of the accomplishment I made. Out of all the accomplishments in my life, I think this was probably one of the largest. I am very proud of the fact that I made the step forward to do this and have been successful at it.
I haven't had any cravings for cigarettes since I started the program which is probably one of the biggest things for me. I can remember doing other programs and still having that desire to smoke. With the hypnosis program at Positive Changes, I haven't had any cravings and I don't dream about smoking. It's like it's completely gone ... completely out of my life. As far as the cost of cigarettes, I save quite a bit of money by not smoking. I'm using my money for fun times with my grandkids so that's a real plus.
There are many benefits from the Positive Changes Hypnosis program. Probably the biggest one for me was the building of my self-confidence, knowing that I really do have the control to make certain decisions. Positive Changes has helped me recognize that. I have a lot more confidence because I accomplished the goal of quitting smoking. I've really felt that this whole program helped more than just quitting smoking. It helped me to realize that I have control over a lot of things in my life and can make them better.
The program is a very good investment for a person. I do recommend Positive Changes to people I know who may have had the same smoking problems that I had or need help with weight loss. I definitely let people know that they need to do their evaluation with Positive Changes to see if it's something that will work for them.
I was a bit skeptical at first, only because I've never personally experienced hypnosis, and probably like a lot of people, I had only seen it on TV in the theatrical sense of hypnosis. So I did have some doubts, but I was willing to put those aside because I wanted to make a change in my life, and it turned out to not be anything like I had thought it would be when I first started the program. I noticed a change in my behavior the very first hypnotic session that I had. I had a huge change just overnight. I quit smoking that night. The next morning I woke up and I had a whole new outlook on my life and what I was going to accomplish through this program.
My success rate for this was fairly fast, easy and effortlessly done. I did feel out of control when I was smoking. I never realized it was as bad as it was but I was definitely out of control. I feel I am in control now. Being in control makes you feel a whole lot better.
I feel a lot better about myself now that I've gone through the Positive Changes program. I give a majority of that credit to Positive Changes for teaching me how to address anything in my life, letting me know that I do have the control over my life and what's going on in it.
