My name is James Kerr and I live in Middleton, ID. I am a student. I initially came to Positive Changes because I was having problems focusing on my studying. I was also having trouble with my memory; remembering what I was going to do, and remembering all the tons of stuff that I have to memorize in paramedic school. I chose Positive Changes because I saw the ads, looked into it. I decided to try it out and see what happens.
After my free consultation, I was impressed with what they were telling me they could help me with. I was still a little skeptical with some of it. After the first session, I felt better and I felt more positive about what I was doing and how I was going to progress. That is why I continued on with the rest of the sessions.
My results were gradual. It wasn't just boom, I was making straight A's, but as I went along I just started turning around the curve and making it further around. When I started at Positive Changes, I was getting 50's and 60's for my grades. Now I'm getting 80's, 90's and 100's. Within the first week, I had gone in and taken a test that was all memorization and I got 106%, because I got the extra credit. As I went along it was easier for me to prepare for an exam. I would write down the material as I was going along and then, boom, it was there.
One of the things I learned was the breathing technique which really helped with the little bit of anxiety that I was experiencing before a test. I would do the breathing I was taught and then all the information would come back to me and I could start writing the material down. I just relaxed enough to do it. I've always had anxiety with tests and now I feel more comfortable with my exams and I can just go in there and do it.
One of the biggest unexpected benefits that I've received is a positive attitude. I've always had a positive attitude but now I'm almost sickening with my positive attitude. My friends and girlfriend tease me all the time that I'm always positive. I recognize now that when I hear people speak I can hear how negative they are. I also found that if you compliment people and tell them about the positives, that it makes a big difference and puts a smile on their face.
I am recommending Positive Changes to other people. I have friends who smoke or just have a negative attitude. I honestly think that the hypnosis program at Positive Changes would help them tremendously.
The most memorable moment that has happened since coming to Positive Changes is that I remember sitting there looking at one of my tests thinking, ok, there is nothing here, I am completely blank. I thought I might get a couple things, but that is when I just stopped and remembered what was told to me. I closed my eyes and did some breathing and then all of a sudden the information was there. It was one of those things that you don't expect it to work, and I kind of had my doubts, but when you listen to your sessions and they say that even if you pretend it won't work, it can still happen. Once you start doing all the positive things, then everything just builds on it. You blossom with it.
I'm now a better student and it's helped me to where I'm more motivated to study and continue on. It's helped me to the point where I'm no longer thinking that I'm too old for this stuff and now I'm thinking that this is going to be a breeze and that I can do it.
