Molly Davis

My name is Molly Davis from Delaware, Ohio and I lost 21 pounds in 10 weeks with Positive Changes Hypnosis.

An Emotional Eater, A Heavy Snacker

I haven't been at my ideal weight since college. I've been overweight my whole adult life, it seems. I'm an emotional eater. I eat when I'm happy, I eat when I'm sad, I eat when I'm stressed. I like food, and I especially like to eat food that's not very good for me. I considered myself to be a 'heavy snacker'. My routine used to be: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. I would have a bowl of popcorn or a little dish of ice cream at night. I was eating anywhere from 5 to 6 times a day. I had gotten so used to the routine of snacking, that I would eat regardless of whether I was hungry or not. I'm an intervention specialist at a local school, and at 10 o'clock, all of the kids in my class would eat their snack. This used to be a time where I would think, "Oh my gosh, I have to have my snack too!" That didn't change much, even when I was trying to eat better. I still snacked – I just tried to choose better snacks or counted calories.

Difficult to Stay Active

I used to offset my eating by staying active. I've actually trained for and completed a triathlon. I like the elliptical and love to swim and play golf in the summer. However, it's been more difficult to stay active in the last five years or so. I work full time and we have a 5 year old daughter who keeps us very busy with dance lessons and gymnastics. Life just always seems so busy and hectic that it was difficult to find "Molly time" to stay active.

Something Needed To Change

The pounds continued to pile up so I tried different diets. I tried counting calories and eating better. I tried just about everything, but I was never able to stick with it. It might last a little while, but I always seemed to gain the weight back. I didn't like the dieting and working so hard for little or no results. I care about how people perceive me, and I didn't like the size I saw in the mirror. I felt like I was some other person trapped in this big body. I knew this wasn't who I was supposed to be. Deep down, I knew something needed to change in my head. I needed something to click for me.

I happened to see the commercial on TV, but I didn't call right away because I was recovering from foot surgery. After a couple of months, I was fully mobile again and decided to give it a try. I was nervous, initially, because I didn't know what to expect at the evaluation. I was skeptical because I've tried so many different things. I didn't realize how much it would change me, or in what ways. If you ask anybody that tries something new, a part of them will wonder, "Is this really going to work?" I wondered that too, but the evaluation process made me feel better. I decided to give it a try and am so happy that I did. It was the best decision I could make.

I Didn't Need To Snack Anymore

This program helped me understand why I ate, when I ate, where I ate, and what I ate. It changed all of my ideas about food to a way that's healthy instead of detrimental. Since beginning my program with Positive Changes, I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and that's it. I tend to have an all-or-nothing personality. If I'm going to do something, I just have to do it 100%. So I decided I was going to eat every 4-6 hours and stick with that schedule. It actually worked! I noticed right away that I didn't need to snack throughout the day anymore. The best part is, I don't feel deprived at all! Initially, I was worried I would miss the snacks, or that I would get hungry in between meals, but it just wasn't the case at all.

We had a couple of days here at school where we've had some luncheons and everybody brings food in. At first, because I know I'm an all-or-nothing person, I didn't eat any chocolate or desserts. I stuck to the proteins and the vegetables. I was afraid to have that first snack. But now I know that I can have a chocolate or an Oreo cookie or dessert without hitting this downward spiral and losing all control. Do I still eat pizza? Of course! Do I have a cookie every now and then? Sure! But now there's moderation where before it used to be all the time, every day. When I'm out to dinner with other people and I have dessert, they're not looking at me like, "Oh, she really shouldn't have dessert." Instead, they're looking at me like, "Maybe you should eat some dessert!"

Positive Experience For My Whole Family

More than anything, I wanted this to be positive for my daughter, too. I wanted her to have good eating habits without thinking that she needs to be 'skinny'. This process has had a wonderful impact on her - and my whole family. She understands that we're not eating to be skinny – we're eating to be healthy. We're eating to feed our bodies and to do the right thing for them. We eat a protein, and my daughter knows what protein is. We eat vegetables regularly. So regularly, in fact, that when we do something different, like pizza night, she'll say, "Mom, why aren't we having a vegetable?" It's cute, and I'm so proud of her. These changes are going to make us healthy people and live longer and be happy.

I Exceeded my Weight Loss Goal

I feel great! I have lost 21 pounds and have gone down 2 clothing sizes since the start of my program. I lost 5 pounds, on average, in the first few weeks. 10 weeks into the program, I hit my goal of 20 pounds. I'm now at a size and a weight that's very maintainable for me. I didn't want to lose so much weight that I didn't have any wiggle room. Not necessarily wiggle room to gain pounds, but room to have a cookie without feeling like I've ruined everything I've worked towards. I can enjoy ice cream cones and family traditions, like pizza night or going to Cherry Berry. I'm at a place now where I can live my life and still wake up the next day and get right back on track.

I'm Comfortable In My Own Skin Again

I'm a confident person. Inside, I know who I am. I know what I can do. I'm a good teacher; a great mom. I'm all of these things. Before, I knew how I looked on the outside didn't match up with who I was on the inside. Since my program with Positive Changes, I am confident that who I am on the inside is reflected on the outside as well.

Sometimes, it's hard for me to remember what I look like to other people because the change was so natural. I know I must look different because people see me and make comments like "Oh my gosh, you're so skinny!" or "You look so good!" It's a new experience, because I've never been thin before. Even now, I see pictures of myself, but I don't really think of myself as 'skinny.' Instead, I think of myself as 'healthy.' I know that I'm taking care of myself. I'm eating right, and making good choices. I love looking in the mirror and knowing I made this happen. I'm so proud of my accomplishments, and I feel really good about where I am now.

I had a lot of clothes, but I hated the way they looked on me. I looked heavy, so I tried to hide it. I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. Now I don't worry when I get dressed in the morning. I'm comfortable in my own skin again. Now I worry about not having enough clothes! Having to buy a new wardrobe is a GREAT problem to have!

I Recommend Positive Changes 100%

I would definitely recommend Positive Changes Hypnosis 100%. If you want something that is going to change you in a positive way, and you're ready for a change, give it a try. Pick up the phone and, at the very least, go to the free evaluation. But you have to be ready. You have to be willing to accept a change in your mind. I was ready for a change, so I gave it a try. I am so glad I made the decision to go with Positive Changes. It has changed my life, and my family's life for the better. I feel like I've hit the lottery. This is definitely an experience that changed me from the inside out.
