My name is Rich Herron. I live in Spokane, WA and I'm a Building Engineer. With the help of Positive Changes, I have been smoke-free for over 2 ½ years. I signed up for a quit smoking program with Positive Changes, and I was done with smoking after my first hypnosis session. Even though it only took me one session to quit, I believe the entire program and all the reinforcement that it provided made me a non-smoker for life.

The biggest health improvement that I have noticed is that I can walk for some distance without running out of breath. I no longer have the difficulty of being in the woods and climbing the mountains while hunting. Also, my mental outlook on my health has improved. I completed in my first Bloomsday Run this year and I am very proud of that.

I was smoking between 1and 1 ½ packs of cigarettes a day. Depending on stress levels, sometimes it was up to 2 packs a day. The first time I actually smoked a cigarette was when I was about 12 years old and then I smoked off and on until I quit 2 1/2 years ago with Positive Changes. I am now 54 years old.

I first heard about Positive Changes from a TV commercial, and then I started noticing all the billboards around town. I knew very little about hypnosis, but those ads sparked my interest.

Positive Changes made it very easy for me to stop smoking. One session and I was done. People ask me all the time if it was hard to stop. I tell them the truth. I just did not think about it. I just quit. The significant change I noticed about my behavior was at work. There is the social aspect of smoking, going out for a cigarette break with fellow employees. The breaks now became just coffee or water breaks. I did not have to go outside in the cold to take a break. My hypnosis program did eliminate the urges for cigarettes because I don’t have any desire or cravings for them now. I would say that it gave me more confidence because before I quit smoking, I was very conscious of the way I smelled. After quitting, I knew I didn’t smell bad like that anymore.

I feel I am a pretty strong willed guy. I figured I could quit anytime I wanted but I was wrong. I was disappointed in myself because I could not just quit. I did not try the patch or the gum because I had had friends who had tried both and said that they did not work. I felt resigned to the fact that I was going to be a smoker. Because I did not have the willpower to stop smoking, I felt I did not have any control over my need for a cigarette. After completing my Positive Changes program, I now feel that cigarettes are not a part of my life. The most interesting thing to me about quitting smoking with hypnosis is that I don't even think about smoking. No urges or cravings at all. I just do not smoke.

After 2 ½ years of not smoking, I cannot even imagine smoking again. It's kind of funny but I cannot even remember smoking for all those years. I know I did, but I can't remember why.

The most important commodity that we all have is our life~ and the lives of our loved ones. With the help of Positive Changes Hypnosis, I hope I have a long and healthy life and that without all the second hand smoke, the ones around me will be healthy as well. I am very pleased with the outcome from my program with Positive Changes and have recommended it to many people.

Thanks to the help from Positive Changes Hypnosis I know I will never be a smoker again! How can I? I don't even think about it. It’s not hard to be a non-smoker when the thought of having a cigarette does not enter your brain. Here I am writing this and I do not have a conscious thought to have a cigarette. It’s not there, it’s gone. Forever!
